Blogging begins with me

Today I’m starting my blog, something I’ve been debating within myself for a long while, not sure if I should. What made me change my mind? A change of heart. Coming from a background in journalism, writing was always done for the reader, the public. But a friend, long-time blogger, and expert in the social media Kevin Lim, helped me realise that blogging begins with myself. It doesn’t matter if no one reads, it is a record for myself, about myself. If others read it too–all I can say is, I hope they enjoy it!

So to begin this blog, here’s today’s most apt Quote of the Day displayed on my Personalised Google Startpage:

“The man who writes about himself and his own time is the only man who writes about all people and all time.”
- George Bernard Shaw

  1. Welcome to the blogosphere! Given your journalistic, technology and public relations background, I think plenty of people will find it interesting to read what you’ve to say. Take it easy and enjoy yourself :)

  2. Welcome to the Blogosphere, as they say. I’d say it’s about “writing FOR oneself” and not “writing ABOUT oneself” per se.
