Student builds Filipino social networking site

Amazing. Twenty-year-old student Jerome Uy of the Mapua Institute of Technology has built his own Friendster / MySpace rival for his country, the Philippines.
The site is called Oyaye (pronounced Oh-ya-yeah) and has about 8,000 members since November last year.

Found this on Alvin’s blog. It’s a fun widget that plays on your blog as a ratio of the AOL-Weblogs deal. It uses Technorati’s API.
As far as I’m concerned, I haven’t seen one cent of that amount.

Closing Pandora’s music box

Sigh. Just got the above letter in an email from Pandora. As of today (US time) they will be stopping access to all IP addresses outside of the US and UK. This is terrible news as Pandora is my favourite social music site.
