I like marketing, but I also like technology. Alright, I'll take both!
My name is Benjamin Koe. I am a Co-founder & Employee No. 3 at JamiQ. My company builds software that helps businesses monitor their brands on the social media. I was formally a PR and social media consultant at Hill & Knowlton and before that a technology journalist with CMP.
Too often jeans companies only let you look at the models wearing the goods, Wrangler lets you "play" with theirs. Fantastic frame-by-frame interactive play Wrangler has done on their site. Push the guy around, strip the shirt off his back. Nothing lets you appreciate jeans more than seeing them in action.
Love this campaign and the music is super awesome too!
Not that finding someone that looks like you has anything to do with Coke, but this use of facial recognition technology for a viral online campaign is sweet! Even better when they integrate it as a Facebook app.
Coke Zero wants to help you find people who look like you. Just upload your photo and you're done. How fun is that?!
This is both funny and effective. If you are Singaporean, you'll definitely appreciate it. At first glance I thought it was just a local vendor trying too hard. But on hindsight, it looks like it was well researched. He clearly wanted to reach a local car-owning male audience, and there's nothing better than a sexy girl washing a car.
What's also interesting is that this video would never make it on to local TV as a commercial, but on YouTube, it's a hit!
Intel has created a "put your face on a music video" Christmas greeting site this year called http://www.makeyourholidaysing.com/. This is very similar to the highly successful ElfYourself by OfficeMax. The interesting features about this year's viral Christmas sites is the clear integration with social media platforms such as uploading your Intel music video to YouTube and using photos for ElfYourself from Facebook.
I don't mean to do two posts in a row on Gary V, but this guys is simply amazing. He's a real personality and I think of all the talents on can have in the world, Gary's got honesty.
I'm constantly surrounded in the corporate world by people who are saying things like "try to be tactful" and "CC the boss because its safer". Why not just be dead honest if you have something of value to give?
This talk made me wonder if people don't want to be as transparent and open as Gary because in reality they suck at what they do and hide behind their tact and corporate speak.
I know nothing about wine, but it appears that Gary knows a whole lot and that's probably the reason why he dares be open because no one can challenge him on that.
I'm going to be more mindful now about how I communicate. I'm going to try and be more open, more transparent, and more real from now on.
This is a good summary of Gary Veynerchuk's new book. I'm a fan of Gary V, love his passion and ambition. But I think most of us don't need to buy the book to understand his passion and drive.
Weber Shandwick has put together a colorful little package that contains 99 really quick tips to remember about reputation management. Love the way its put so succinctly, but 99 is quite a bit to remember.
Polar Tweets is quite a simple yet clever marketing campaign by the Toronto Zoo to keep people spreading the message of global warming via Twitter. This mixture of visualization and social networks combines the best of interactivity with word of mouth marketing.
